From the works of living enlightened master Paramahamsa Nithyananda. In this clip taken from the discourses, “Power of Darkness” and “Inner Darkness”, Swamiji gives us a beautiful understanding of meditating on darkness. Darkness is the mother energy on which the whole world is moving. Connecting with darkness will completely remove all fears of death, depression. Swamiji tells us that by meditating on darkness one can get to a thoughtless state since thoughtlessness is colorlessness. In this clip Swamiji describes two techniques of Shiva to meditate on darkness. The technique requires us to experience the deep sleep state with awareness. He tells us that when we add awareness to deep sleep we fall into the state of Samadhi or enlightenment. The complete discourses may be ordered online at www.lifeblissgalleria.com.

Meditation is considered as a powerful form of self-realization and self-healing. There are various methods by which you can meditate, but perhaps, the most potent of all is the Chakra Meditation.
Chakra Meditation ” A Primer
Chakra Meditation is the art of balancing and energizing all the seven energy centers in the body, called Chakras, in order to align the flow of energy through them. Heres a brief description of these seven energy centers, or the Chakras:
1. Root or Base Chakra located at the base of the spine and related to the element Earth. It governs our general health, prosperity, and security.
2. Brow Chakra, also called The Third Eye Chakra, is situated between the brows on the forehead. It is related to the Light element, which governs our perception, interpretation, and visualization.
3. Throat Chakra is situated at the base of the throat. It is related to the Sound element, which governs our creativity, communication ability, and resonance.
4. Heart Chakra governing your general relationships, and feelings of love and compassion is located at the center of the chest and related to the element Air.
5. Power Chakra, also called the Solar Plexus, is situated just above the naval region. It is related to the Fire element, which governs our will power, metabolism, and autonomy.
6. Brow Chakra governing your power of imagination, visualization, and interpretation is located between the brows on the forehead and related to the element Light.
7. Crown Chakra located at the top of the head and related to the element thought. It governs consciousness, wisdom, and knowledge.
If you want to reinvent yourself and bring back those vitalizing moments in your life, then theres no substitute to Chakra Meditation. If these vital seven Chakras are rotating in sync, physical, mental, and spiritual well being is assured. Thus, you can safely conclude that Chakra Meditation is the key to overall health of your life, taken as a whole.
Chakra Meditation Techniques
Chakra Meditation is the sum total of the following three techniques:
1. Grounding Technique refers to the process whereby, your body feels connected with Earth. The visualization involves assuming a root growing from your body and entering into the Earth, thus, transfixing your body to the ground. With some intense focus and determination, you can achieve this state of Chakra Meditation.
2. Centering Technique refers to the process whereby, your body gets prepared to receive the benefits of Chakra Meditation. The actual step involves taking 3-5 deep breaths. And visualization involves the assumption of feeling of relaxation of every body part from toe to head by tightening and relaxing each body part starting from toe, and moving in the northwards direction, till the head. The final act is the visualization of the act of centering a pot on a pottery wheel.
3. Relaxation Technique refers to the process whereby, the body feels relaxed by an act of visualization that suits an individual the best. Every individual is free to adopt his or her own relaxation method.
One of the popular methods of Chakra Meditation is detailed below:
a) Sit or lie down in a comfortable position.
b) Close your eyes and loosen your clothing. The idea is to be in a natural state without any kind of artificial compulsion on the body and mind.
c) Take relaxing breaths ” neither too fast nor too slow. Just give up your control on the breath, and let it flow naturally.
d) Start feeling every part of your body from toe to the head in that direction. While your eyes are closed, feel the earth you are lying or sitting on, or the bed you are lying or sitting on, feel the aura around you, feel the clothes you are wearing. Feel everything youd have had your eyes been open. Visualize life in darkness!
e) All the negative thoughts and emotions should not be avoided. Let them be! With time and regular practice, these thoughts will disappear automatically. Rather, when no such negative emotion disturbs you, that is the time when you should consider that you have perfected the art of Chakra Meditation.
f) Let you spirit roam in every part of your body. This is the feeling of completeness youve been yearning for.
Chakra Meditation can be performed by anyone at convenient hours. There is no rule for the duration of time to perform Chakra Meditation. Suit your comfort levels!

Pioneered by spiritual master Eknath Easwaran, passage meditation consists of memorizing an inspirational spiritual passage and then sending it deep into consciousness through slow, sustained attention. It keeps meditation fresh and varied because readers can select the passages — from one tradition or many — that embody their chosen ideals. Many readers also enjoy the passages for their poetic and intellectual appeal. This form of meditation offers all the richness and depth of traditional wisdom, together with a practical method for bringing that wisdom into daily life. The book situates passage meditation as part of Easwaran’s eight-point program that, based on traditional spiritual practices but adjusted for modern lifestyles, shows readers how to stay calm and focused at work and home. This edition includes a new preface of previously unpublished material by Easwaran and an epilogue that explains the story behind the book and invites new readers to join the author on this adventure in the “world within.”
These days we hear a lot about nicotine addiction, health effects of cigarette smoking, de-addiction and related matters profusely. Sadly enough, the final victory against nicotine abuse has yet been found by many. Warning signs and symbols are put up in plenty by the governments, awareness is created among the public using mass media of communication regarding the harmful effects of smoking. Doctors advise their clients to stop smoking for their overall wellbeing. Still, much improvement has not been visible. In this circumstance, hypnosis for stop smoking in its totality can be effectively used to defeat the fatal habit.
Smokers find themselves in miserable conditions related to mental and physical health. Lack of self-esteem is a major problem that they face. Due to addiction to heavy smoking, the body refuses to work without the regular dose of nicotine as a stimulant. Passing one day without nicotine would be an uphill task for them. The worst part is that slowly and gradually fatal diseases start showing up their ugly faces cruelly.
Hypnosis, which tries to address the causes of smoking addiction and remove the habit permanently, is a scientifically proved anti-smoking strategy. Other tactics aimed at removing smoking habits tend to do the proverbial watering the leaves while hypnosis goes down to the roots. That is the biggest reason why hypnosis based cure to smoking has been immensely successful.
It is not only you, but your near and dear families also suffer from your indiscretion. So you need to get over your smoking habits for their sake. There are many hypnosis experts everywhere to help you, step by step, out of the quagmire and into a new life filled with overall happiness. The hypnotist would implant several anti-smoking suggestions into your mind which gets stuck there.
Once the process is successfully completed, there is no fear of you going back to the dreadful habit. This is how hypnosis for stop smoking in its entirety would help your life back on rails. It is observed that as much as seventy percent of people undergoing stop smoking hypnosis never go back to the acquired habit. So do the needful quickly before you are too late. Your family members and friends also would be thankful to you for that.

Meditation is an intensely personal and spiritual experience. The purpose of each meditation technique is to channel awareness into a more positive direction by totally transforming one’s state of mind. The mediation is to turn inwards and to concentrate on the inner self.
There are many meditation techniques for beginners, I believe that guided meditation is the best for learning how to meditate. In order to keep your mind from racing and to focus your attention you can create a guided meditation using a simple recording device. The key is to speak slowly and clearly in a calm and relaxing voice. Begin by relaxing your body starting at your head, and moving down your scalp, face, neck, throat chest back, arms, hands, abdomen, pelvic girdle, buttocks, legs, feet toes. Talk gently and slowly and use the word relax many times.
When learning how to meditate the important thing is to start somewhere. You can always improve your meditation techniques once you’ve started but if you don’t apply any techniques on how to meditate then you’ve got nowhere.
Mindfulness meditation involves opening the attention to become aware of the continuously passing parade of sensations and feelings, images, thoughts, sounds, smells, and so forth without becoming involved in thinking about them. The meditator sits quietly and simply witnesses whatever goes through the mind, not reacting or becoming involved with thoughts, memories, worries, or images. This helps to gain a more calm, clear, and non-reactive state of mind.
Mantra meditation forms the heart of the Hindu faith and it’s effectiveness has also been proven by centuries of successful application. In mantra meditation, you pick a mantra that suits you and then repeat it mentally or out loud continuously. This technique, just like Zen Meditation, will help develop your concentration, mental focus and awareness.
Controlling Your Breath At no time during the practice of this technique should you make any effort to control the breath. Let it flow naturally. Gradually, you may notice that the pauses between the inhalation and exhalation are becoming longer. Enjoy these pauses, for they are a glimpse of the deep peace state of advanced meditation. As you grow very calm you may notice that the breath is becoming so shallow (or the pauses so prolonged) that it hardly seems necessary to breathe at all.
Taoist meditation methods have many points in common with Hindu and Buddhist systems, but the Taoist way is less abstract and far more down-to-earth than the contemplative traditions which evolved in India. The primary hallmark of Taoist meditation is the generation, transformation, and circulation of internal energy. Once the meditator has ‘achieved energy’ (deh-chee), it can be applied to promoting health and longevity, nurturing the ‘spiritual embryo’ of immortality, martial arts, healing, painting and poetry, sensual self-indulgence, or whatever else the adept wishes to do with it.
Learning to relax is a vital skill because our instinctive responses to stress are often more harmful than the stress itself. When things are not going as planned and we begin to feel the anxiety building up we have a tendency to overreact to some of the most insignificant situations. Think about the times you have endured stress just by thinking about something that might happen. My Mother used to tell me that I was just borrowing trouble when I did this and now I can see how right she was. We are going to learn some techniques we can use that will help us deal with or even avoid stress altogether while helping us to enjoy some relaxation in our hectic lives.
Relaxation is that wonderful feeling you have when the pressures of life seem to be non-existent and you have a positive mental outlook about your surroundings, your work and the day ahead of you. Relaxation is really a wonderful feeling and we all should make concerted attempts to enjoy the peaceful feelings that relaxation invokes. Reducing stress, creating peace of mind and just easing all the tension throughout your body has so many positive affects on your life.
Meditation is one way to bring about a sense of calmness, quietness and peaceful relaxation. Meditation allows the mind to settle down and really experience an inner state of calmness. When you use meditation on a regular basis, after a short amount of time you will begin to notice an improvement in your memory and your problem solving skills. The more you use meditation to help yourself relax the easier it becomes to bring yourself to that peaceful state of mind. Using meditation on a daily basis will help you to focus more on the positives in life, you will notice an increase in your creativity and you will find joy in the small things in life. The use of soothing music such as the sounds of nature or symphonic harmonies are perfect for relaxing your mind allowing you to enter that peaceful meditative state.
The use of visualization is another powerful tool that you may use to rid yourself of stress and bring about true relaxation. To effectively use visualization you should find yourself a place where you can be alone with no noise around you. Close your eyes and try to quite your mind then vividly imagine that you are in the most peaceful place you can think of, picture that place in your mind. Completely immerse yourself in the picture as though you are really there experiencing the whole event involve all your senses, feel the wind, imagine how it smells, hear all the sounds allow yourself to be a part of the scenery. The practice of visualization is so powerful it can remove you from the stress of real life in a matter of moments. Practice it often as the more you use it the easier it becomes to relax and really get yourself swept up into a beautiful fantasy. I visualize the perfect outcomes of many events in my life, the more you visualize something the easier it becomes for your sub-conscious mind to accept the visualization as reality.
Slow easy stretching is a wonderful exercise to use to bring you into a state of complete relaxation. When we become stressed our muscles tighten up and get sore leaving you uncomfortable and tense. Slowly stretching the muscles and tendons loosens you up in a couple of ways, first it stretches the muscles helping you to feel like your not all tied up in knots and just the act of stretching takes your mind off anything that may have been causing you stress. Stretching exercises can be done almost anywhere and while your stretching you can add to your relaxation by adding visualization as you perform your stretches. Now you have connected the body and the mind which helps to bring about a complete state of relaxation.
Muscle relaxation is a very effective technique that involves concentrating on one muscle group at a time. When using this technique you focus on tightening and then relaxing the muscle group. Using this method helps to take your mind off any worries you might have and it allows you to focus on the physical sensation of bringing your muscles to a state of relaxation. You should start tensing and relaxing your muscles in your toes then your feet and progressively work your way up through all the muscles in your body in a methodical pattern. You should tense your muscles for five to ten seconds and then relax for 30 seconds then repeat this process for every muscle group. You will find this exercise to be very relaxing and stress relieving as it frees your mind from the pressures of the day.
Bringing yourself to a state of total relaxation takes practice but the benefits you will receive such as stress relief make it all worthwhile. Whether you have a lot of stress in your life or a little and you believe you have it under control, you can always benefit from the many types of relaxation techniques. The use of soothing music such as the calming sounds of nature will only enhance the benefits you receive from using these forms of relaxation. Music therapy itself has the strong ability to bring you into a peaceful state of relaxation or to help you avoid stress altogether by playing it in the background while at work in the car or at home.
