Muscle relaxants are drugs used to treat skeletal muscle problems in order to help alleviate residual muscle spasms. It is mainly used to lessen muscle pains, spasms, and over responsive reflexes. There are two types of muscle relaxants; the neuromuscular blockers used in surgery and medical procedures, and spasmolytic, used generally to calm or suppress muscle spasms.
