I have read that meditation has great health benefits. My dog , a 9 month old male maltese. I want to teach him how to meditate so that he is relaxed instead of being so hyper.

You cannot teach a dog to meditate!
For a calm dog – good diet, adequate exercise, training & training classes. Also massage etc can be good for dogs.
