How does one practicing mindfulness deal with household pests?

The first mindfulness training/precept is that one shall not commit murder. How does one then deal with household pests like roaches and spiders. I am caught in a dilemma about this. Trying to learn how to reconcile these teachings with real life.

    maybe its our purpose or duty to help controll their numbers?

    My boss at my last job was a buddhist. She said she’d go to these massive meetings with the Lama and a big dog with fleas would sit right near her without fail 🙂

    By not creating the situation that attracts the pests in the first place. 🙂

    But really spiders are not a pest, they will catch and eat other bugs you’ve inadvertently let in to your home.
