Product Description
Dana Williams had twenty years of practice in relaxation and meditation when she developed ‘Math by Grace’ for her children. Three of her children have degrees of ADD; one is autistic. Dana says, “Whereas games, drills and explanations simply did not bring lasting results, ‘Math by Grace’ dramatically and lastingly improved the math skills of each child – which in turn greatly boosted their self-esteem.” Surprised by the results of her experiment, Williams wrote down her experiences and methods.

That was ten years ago. Now her children are grown, and Williams has returned to her notes. This book represents her hope that parents with a background similar to her own can help their children overcome their blocks toward basic math by using deep relaxation and visualization techniques. “It works!” she says of her revolutionary approach. Her children went from the bottom of their classes to the top in no time at all.

This is the key: If you have practiced calming your mind through yoga, Qigong, T’ai Chi, meditation or other discipline, you can learn, with this small book, how to transfer your calm focus to your child through a guided meditation for math. If you do not have experience in these disciplines, perhaps you can give this book to a yoga teacher, therapist or child specialist who could implement ‘Math by Grace’ and help your child and other concentration-challenged children in your area.

Are you thinking, “Not my child!”? Think again. The child on the cover of this book cannot resist going into the ocean – even with his long pants on. This is how your child will feel when, together, you enter an atmosphere of calm, inner light – he will be soothed, entranced, and able to memorize his basic math!

This is an excellent book. I have an extensive background in meditation and children and can honestly say Dana offers an appropriate approach to meditation for children. Her insightful method of combining breathing with math memorization coupled with progressive relaxation and white light meditation is superb. I highly recommend this book.
