Understanding The Out Of Body Experience

An out of body experience, which is sometimes referred to as an OBE, occurs when a person feels like he or she is floating outside of their body. It is a scientifically proven phenomenon that typically occurs when a person is about to die.

When a person perceives his or her physical body from a point outside the body, it is called an astral projection in addition to being called an out of body experience. An out of body experience is not an idea to be laughed at, because so many people who were apparently dying actually remember seeing their physical body lying in a room. They are even able to describe events that occurred in that room while they were “there” seeing their body as if they were outside it.

People began to refer to this experience as an out of body experience or OBE in 1943, instead using the term “projection.” This transition in names occurred in response to the perception that “projection” was more of a belief-centered term. In the past, however, OBEs were referred to as “spirit walking.” Scientific research into this type of experience is ongoing, because it cannot be considered imaginary.

About one person out of every 10 may have encountered such an experience sometime or the other in his life. The statistics for people who have experienced OBE are extremely large, so one cannot look at this experience with skepticism.

Some people have an OBE spontaneously, while for others it might be the result of physical or mental trauma, using psychotropic drugs or the body slipping into a comatose or trance-like state.

There are plenty of places on the Internet, which promise you the joys of astral travel and projection. Astral projection is not difficult if you know how to go about it in the right way. This is supposedly a natural process, which was used very often by the ancients. Unfortunately, a large number of their modern descendents have forgotten the art of astral projection. An out of body experience does not need a large level of spiritual and mental power.

There is one thing you do need to have mental focus about – the fear of not being able to return once you project yourself out of your body can actually prevent you from having an out of body experience. This subconscious fear holds you back, and you need to let it go.

If you believe it’s possible for your astral body to leave your physical body, you should already be on the path toward success. In essence, you have already suggested to your conscious mind that it should let go of the fear. If, however, you fear that you’ll remain in limbo after escaping your physical body, it’s better to not try until after you eliminate that fear.

If you know you believe in this phenomenon, silence your fears. You’ll need to use meditation and self-hypnosis to have a successful OBE. Begin having positive thoughts and tell yourself you want to experience astral projection. As your mind takes over, you will find yourself accepting the possibility of successful astral travel.

Find a location where you won’t be disturbed, and lie down with your arms at your sides. Allow Mother Nature and your aura to harmonize. Breathe deeply and begin letting your physical body relax in a way that will allow your astral body to leave and go into spaces that are outside your physical and mental understanding. You’ll begin to feel your body tingling; you should welcome this feeling. Despite this sensation, eradicate any thoughts that come to mind and continue focusing on breathing deeply and gently.

Normally, an out of body experience is heralded by vibrations and a rapid pulse. Allow those vibrations to sweep over you. Avoid becoming excited; instead, you should remain calm and let the vibrations control you entirely, your body and soul. You will soon be leaving your physical body behind and embarking on an astral journey into another realm or dimension.

Many who have had an out of body experience say that their OBE ended because they were afraid of leaving their physical body too far behind. These people say their experience was clearly not a dream. According to them, their astral bodies were actually in some different sphere, and these people experienced things in that sphere while their astral bodies were there. If you’d like to experience the excitement of astral travel and you firmly believe you can do it, you can.
