Sunday morning offers a once-in-a-lifetime moment for Anchorage, when British sculptor Antony Gormley installs a mammoth (for Alaska) steel piece called “Habitat” onto the newly landscaped grounds of the Anchorage Museum. Two cranes will be brought to the corner of Sixth Avenue and C Street downtown to lift the 24-foot sculpture, which is a blocky, human form composed of 57 stainless steel boxes.
